“Any doubt, difference, dispute, controversy or claim arising from, out of or in connection with this contract, or on the interpretation thereof or on the rights, duties, obligations, or liabilities of any parties thereto or on the operation, breach, termination or invalidity thereof, shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the CCC – ICLP International ADR Center, Sri Lanka.”

- The arbitral tribunal shall be composed of three arbitrators (or a sole arbitrator).

- Submitting the Request
- The first step is for a party to submit a fully compliant “Request for Arbitration” to the Center. The party requesting is referred to as “the Claimant” and the party/parties against whom claims are made is/are the “Respondent/s” [Rule 4]
- A Request is fully compliant when all the information and documents that are required are supplied. [Rule 4]
- If the Request is fully compliant, the Center will process same.
- If the Request is not fully compliant the Claimant will be advised to rectify the deficiencies, and the processing will be undertaken only when the Request is fully compliant.
- Processing the Request
- The Center will process the request to determine whether the requirements to proceed with the arbitration are satisfied. [Rule 5]
- Notice to the Respondent
- If the requirements are satisfied, the Center will forward a Notice to the Respondent/s to submit a response to the Claims of the Claimant within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the Notice. [Rule 5]

- It may be noted that the arbitration may proceed, even if the Respondent fails to submit a response.

Appointment of Arbitrators
- When all documentation formalities are complied with in terms of the Rules, the Arbitrators will be appointed and the Arbitration will commence.

Administration services
- The Secretariat of the Center will provide the administration services and guide the parties until the appointment of the Arbitrator/s after which, all decisions with regard to the arbitration will be taken by the Arbitrator/s.
- The Secretariat of the Center will provide all logistocal support.
- Fees
- Parties will be advised of the fees payable.
